Phone Lines Cut

Yesterday at about 9 am, a contractor working at Haleakala Ranch in Kihei damaged fiber-optic cable, affecting west side telecommunications.

Service to the Outrigger Maui Eldorado was restored around 7 pm. Since there is no redundancy here, either in utilities, roadways or other vital services, a disruption means that you're just out of luck until such time as the service is restored.
