Weakest Summer Ever

Hawaii tourism had the weakest summer ever recorded, with tourism industry revenue down an estimated $238M from 2008.

Maui hotel occupancy fell almost 3% compared to last year, with a decline in ADR of almost 20%. Maui's ADR of $231.67 was still the best in the state, however.

While luxury hotels achieved occupancy rates of 77.7%, midpriced and economy hotels had the lowest occupancy per segment of 61.3%
