Baby Boomers Start To Travel In Retirement

Aloha Kakou:

For the next 19 years, each day 11,000 Americans will turn 65.

Baby boomers have a very different idea of how to travel following retirement:

- They want to believe that they are having a unique travel experience;
- Vacations are learning experiences;
- There is an emphasis on experiential, sustainable, interactive and thematic travel;
- These travelers have a desire for discovery and educational enrichment;
- They are seeking intellectual, spiritual and physical enhancement and they are also looking for fun at the same time;
- Family and intergenerational travel is important to them.

You are right about baby boomers being a different type of traveler from their parent's generation. Boomers want to be active and are still willing to try new things.
